QEF is a Non-Profit Company (NPC) that meets the definition provisions stated in Section 1of the Companies Act 71 of 2008.
It is governed by a board of volunteer non-executive directors, with fiduciary duties, who meet periodically to discuss and vote on the affairs of QEF. They are legally responsible for making sure QEF remains true to its mission, safeguards its assets, and operates in our funders’ and members’ interest.
Our directors are knowledgeable, competent and dedicated, essential to realising our vision for the transformation of Komani into a universally-recognised centre of educational excellence.
Good Governance is at the heart of creating sustainable programmes. To this end QEF signs Strategic Partnership Agreements to ensure high levels of governance and clear understanding of the obligations and responsibilities of both parties.
Key areas of QEF’s governance:
- Vision, policies, strategies and contracts;
- Oversight of fundraising;
- Monitoring performance and expenditure.
When our funder community conducts due diligence, our financials and our directors’ competencies meet their expectations.
